At 1:52 a.m. on July 25, 2024, a serious vehicle fire broke out in the outdoor parking lot of the Tianhe Passenger Transport Station in Tianhe District, Guangzhou, Guangdong Province. At the scene, two empty coaches and an electric bus—both unoccupied—suddenly caught fire while being charged. The blaze spread rapidly, accompanied by explosions and thick plumes of smoke. According to a security guard at the station, he was on duty at the guard booth that night when he heard an explosion. Shortly thereafter, vehicles parked outdoors began to erupt in flames, and the fire quickly escalated. The guard immediately called for help, and upon receiving the alert, the fire department responded swiftly, rushing to the scene to extinguish the blaze.
